About Troop 208

Troop 208 was established over 60 years ago, and has been a strong scouting presence in West Haven ever since. The Troop has hosted hundreds of scouts and has produced numerous Eagle Scouts over the past six decades. While making Eagle is a goal, the priority of our Troop is to kindle friendships and make memories that will last a lifetime and to prepare every boy to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the Scout Oath and Law.

Where we meet

Saint Lawrence Church
207 Main Street
West Haven, CT

We meet from 7:15-8:30pm on Thursday nights all year long.

Monthly Outings

Each month the troop goes on an outing. Typically for these we leave on Friday evening and return on Sunday. These are usually campouts or adventures such as canoeeing, hiking, fishing or climbing.

Summer camp

Members Troop 208 can attend a week-long summer camp each year in Northwest Connecticut. Sometimes we go as a Troop, other years we go as Provisional Campers.

High Adventure

In addition to the adventures each month, Troop 208 participates in High Adventure trips. The troop traditionally goes to remote wilderness areas to camp, hike and canoe. Where we go and what we do is choosen by the scouts themselves.
