Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

2017's Awesome Trip!
Baxter State Park
Mt. Katahdin.

For 2017- Troop 208 went to the Baxter State Park- Home of Mt. Katahdin. It was another awesome trip! Scouts (and some returning former Scouts) hiked the park- including the Northern Terminus of the AT- Mt. Katahdin. After a long, strenuous climb- we were greeted with beautiful views and a sense of accomplishment.
Kayaking, swimming, fishing and wildlife viewing rounded out the week. Photo's are on "Past Events" page.

Camping

Troop 208 is a year round troop and camps every month. Past campouts have focused on river canoe camping, wilderness survival, hiking, and orienteering. Each summer we attend either a week-long scout summer camp or do a high adventure trip.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or a vocation.
